Job Description: |
1) Properly layout a project, making certain that the proper grades are followed and the structure are accurately located.
2) Interprets construction drawings and technical specifications; Have a thorough knowledge of the plans and specifications for each project assigned
3) Oversees performance of all trade contractors and reviews architectural and engineering drawings to make sure that all specifications and regulations are being followed
4) Assessing workers competency/capability levels and ensuring that they are well qualified and are efficiently carrying out duties assigned; evaluating crew capability, training, coaching to ensure that the crew meets required levels of quality.
5) Manage field crews and Maintain a high standard of quality control at all times
6) Communicating the job to and with the foremen/workers
7) Assigning crew tasks
8) Setting and maintaining work standards and outlining behavioral expectations to ensure crew morale and productivity
9) Ensuring crew compliance with project policies and procedures
10) Overseeing the execution of the work, including quality and production, by ensuring that the crews work to job specifications and follow drawings
11) Derive the most efficient method/construction technique of completing a task.
12) Regular inspections of the work on site. Identifying defects and suggesting ways to correct them and supervising same.
13) Responsible for ensuring that all works done, be it masonry, plumbing or electrical; is plum, level, square and range as required.
14) Measuring and sampling building materials to check their quality
15) Maintain a good relationship with the Project Manager, seeking his/her assistance in the scheduling of materials, equipment and subcontractors.
16) Review the job schedule and cost breakdown, resolving all differences of opinion with Project Manager at the beginning of the job.
17) See that good housekeeping practices are observed and maintained on site; Ensures that the housekeeping of the work areas are at all time neat, clean and tidy.
18) Insure that all change orders are properly executed and indicated on as-built plans.
19) Implements Zero accident philosophy and ensures that the requirements of the project Health & Safety policy are adhered too.
20) Conducts a weekly safety tour and Takes immediate action as required to resolve any potential hazards.
21) Develops the work schedule and ensure that all milestone dates are met
22) Communicate with Project Manager to maintain work schedules.
23) Innovate methodologies for greater efficiency.
24) Communicate with clients, as necessary.
25) Performs other duties as assigned.
